KRMC - ED Expansion
Kingman Regional Medical Center Emergency Department expansion and remodel is an estimated 18,000 sqft addition as well as a 3,000 sqft renovation to the existing Emergency Department. My team has been in close communication with the KRMC ED staff since the early design development phase. We hosted a large user group meeting at the beginning of the project development to allow the many departments within the ED a chance to give their initial input.
Following this large user group meeting, my team then worked with a smaller group of the ED staff to design a floor plan that would best compensate for their intended workflow, while also keeping the needs of all other user groups in mind. Once the floor plan was agreed upon by the ED staff, we did another round of smaller user group meetings to discuss the new ED floor plan room by room with all ED department leads. The new ED floor plan includes 2 new trauma rooms, a fast track wing, a secured patient pod, an area for emergency preparedness, and a lab.
This $9.8 million project was a total of 21,635 sqft and the expansion was completed in 2021. The remodel of the existing emergency department is scheduled to be completed in 2023.
